Damien’s POV
I knew it, it was too obvious for her too not be pregnant. Her happiness does not match my own, in fact she looks sad, heartbroken.
“What’s the matter?”
She mutters my name again and I realise what she is trying to say. Our child will be the heir of Blood Pack but they would be my heir too.
An Alpha by blood and an Alpha by fate. A child born from two Alphas, something that had never been heard of.
“The note” Aiden mutters.
He was right, the note had said ‘The last Blood Alpha,” maybe it had never been about Irina, maybe it had been about our child.
“What are we going to do?” Her voice was quiet as she looks down at the floor, her hand resting on her stomach.
“We are going to raise a happy and healthy child.” It was what we needed to focus on, but I needed answers. I needed to find out if this really is the only case in the world.

Damien’s POVI stare at the letter. Every so often I would glance up at my mate, who was now dry heaving. Dropping the letter, I find myself rubbing Irina’s back, trying to reassure her that it was all okay, that everything would work out. I had no idea which bit was freaking her out, the news of our child or the news that she would be bringing Blood Packs reign to an end.Her hands rest on her stomach as she gasps for air whispering the words ‘ultimate Alpha’ over and over. I was trying to concentrate on her and not think of the letter, but I couldn’t get the words out of my head either.Beads of sweat start forming on Irina’s skin, her eyes search mine as they begin to glaze over. She was on the verge of passing out. Lifting her from the chair, I take her through to the main room, laying her on the couch.“Water” she gasps at me, and I head towards the kitchen, stumbling over a floorboard on my way.

Damien’s POVShe sent me into sheer panic for a moment. The witch who Damien had gone to for a spell, how he called her for help because of the guardians, how she had told him what to do and then the phone was wierdly disconnected. He talks about a mark or symbol that will be on the letter if water is applied and how he was fighting with the decision of destroying the last thing my mother gave me.We sit at the table, the letter lying open in the middle, neither of us speaking as we both stare at the letter. Damien’s POVI’m awakened by an excruciating pain, a horrid uncomfortable stabbing pain, rolling across my entire torso. It was worse than when Ketill stabbed me.
