My eyes scanned the two people before me and their expression said it all.

It didn't help that I had caught up with some words they said about me behind closed doors.

" What is it that I deserve to know, mother?" I àsked, this time, my gaze never leaving hers.

My mother heaved a heavy sigh before motioning me to sit next to her.

" I didn't want to tell you now but it seems if I don't come clean with you, you'll probably eat me alive." My mother said before chuckling, perhaps in an attempt to lighten the mood.

She was right though. I definitely wasn't going to eat her alive but I wasn't going to leave without hearing the truth from her mouth.

Call me stubborn, I don't care. I have had so many things kept from me in my life that I was starting to hate being kept in the dark.

" You àsked me about the book earlier," she started.

" Actually, you don't need to know what the book says, you just need to ask me what you want to know and I'll tell you." She offered and my heart skipped a beat.
