It felt like I was missing something somehow.

It was that feeling that drove me to work extra hard today, as though racing towards, or from something. The thought remained niggling in my mind even as I drove home. Something was coming, or was on its way, yet I couldn't understand what.

As I came into the house, I was greeted by Sierra with a slight hug.

"You're back." She said, giving me a slight warmth.

It was rare at times for her to show her affection. I welcomed her hug, pulling her closer.

"And here I thought you were going to shack yourself in the office all day." She said, quirking up her eyebrow smugly.

I shot her back with an equally smartass comment.

Separating from Sierra, I looked forward to see… her. She was okay. The cream dress she wore complimented her skin and white hair well. Yet, there was a flash of uneasiness in her expression. Why did I get the feeling that something was bothering her?

"Good day," I said, giving a slight nod in her direction.
