SCARLETT

Fear pulsed underneath my skin. I stared at Izer, unable to understand why I had kissed Aaron.

“ Come. Out. ” Izer whispered, the dark veil consuming his irises.

Without waiting for another beat of my heart, I jumped out of Aaron’s lap and stumbled out of the door. My wobbly legs failed to keep me up. I almost dropped to my knees but Izer’s arm caught me in mid-air.

“ I—Izer…I—I can explain. ” I stuttered.

My heart was beating in my throat. Inhaling Izer’s scent and having his hand enclosed around my waist was making the whole scenario more real. The sparks that exploded behind my eyes had me trembling in his hold—the desire was still there. I was fucking turned on as if my life depended on getting a dick.

“ Oh. You said he was just a friend, Sky. Why explain things to a friend? ” Aaron stepped out behind me.
