Chapter 161

Author's POV

Miranda shifted in her chair, staring out the study window. Nothing seem to be going well for her since a long while now. And neither does she feel motivated to move an inch or encourage herself. She inhaled, feeling exhausted.

The door to the study opened, she could tell who it was from the sound of the leg and the familiar perfume. Cara pulled out the chair to sit in, clearing her throat. Miranda turned around in her chair.

"I see you have eventually gotten a free time from those two troublemakers." She laughed at her own joke.

Cara tilted her head, observing her. "When was the last time you had a good meal? You look really pale."

She kissed her teeth. "Don't mind me, I haven't been hungry this days."

Exhaling, Cara moved to the edge of the chair. She could see the fading blue scar under Miranda's eyes. She has been hiding herself for a week, just to aid the healing of her swollen face. Cara had intentionally kept her distance to give Miranda time to herself. But, re
