Chapter 33

Alicia's POV

It was Ramirez. I rested my head on his chest, overcome with fear. My heartbeat quickened as I sensed his hand on my head.

"Come with me," he responded, pulling me with him to the garden we often visit to unwind.

"Why are you out here?" I inquired hastily, before he had the chance to question me.

"I awoke from a dreadful dream. I don't know... Alicia, I don't want to lose you," Ramirez uttered, and for the first time, I saw him nearly moved to tears.

"What?... What was it about?" I inquired, attempting to see if I could make sense of it. I gently lifted his face to mine and wiped away the tear that was about to fall.

"I think I'm going to harm you, Alicia, and... and our babies," Ramirez cried.

"How? Wait... your dream seems similar to mine," I concluded as I tried to connect what I had seen in my dream to his.

"Yes, I woke up because of that. Hey, baby, look at me. We have to be strong. We must not reveal this side of ourselves to the public, especially to our soldiers. I
