VANCE’S POV “I know that this can’t be good,” I said to Miriam, closing the door of my home office. She sat in one of my chairs in the corner of the room. SIANNA’S POV In Vance’s room at the Packhouse, I was getting ready for the ceremony. Usually Alpha’s and their Beta and Gamma lived at the pack house. This is the housing for visitors like other Alphas and guests. But Vance hated too much interference so he built his house ten minutes from here to have privacy. I liked it too because it kept us away from the hustling drama that arose when living with others. All members of the pack had access to the pack house and there were bedrooms to accommodate them. It was like a five-story hotel. Vance loved a lavish lifestyle and this was his way of sharing that with his pack. Vance’s room on the fifth floor was vast and had a small kitchenette, two walk-in closets, and a spacious elegant bathroom inclusive of a hot tub. **SIANNA'S POV** “Rogue Attack!” “Rogues at the border!” Alertness spiked through my body. Vance looked to his left to look at me. ‘Take the women and children to the bunker. Don’t come out until we gave the all-clear.’ Vance mind-linked me and sprang off. The women and children were heading behind the pack house towards the underground bunker for safety. Everyone shifted back to their human form. I went in position and guided them inside while being at the doorway. Mom, Hailey, and Rionna helped. All the male adults had to help the fight while the women and children were hidden in the bunker as the battle was going on. The aim is always to keep the war from the pack house so that no one gains unauthorized access. We attended to the infants to calm them. Some had taken to the beds while others sat in chairs. ***VANCE'S POV*** Blayne returned to the pack by midday. He stormed into my office, ranting and raging. He told Cleopatra to stay at the border, and a tent was prepared for her and her two ambassadors, along with food. After two days, another thirty of her rogues were permitted to arrive but camp outside the borders at the same spot. There was a stream nearby for them to bathe in. I sat in my executive chair scanning through the documents that she gave to Blayne to present to me. It was well written and the arrangement was right. ***Vance’s POV*** As soon as Sianna fell into a deep slumber, I slowly rolled her off me without waking her. I figured that she would be washed with fatigue from the traveling of yesterday. I took one of my shirts and rested it above her head so that the scent of me would imply that I was there with her, comforting both her and her wolf. Containing my wrath was impossible. My wolf was hell-bent on killing Curtis. I wanted to rip his throat out the minute Sianna revealed his traitorous actions. He obviously did not intercept the message that I had visibly sent that Sianna was MINE! It was now my prerogative to make him suffer, to make him wish his mother had locked her legs and refused to push him out for him to be born. Blayne had gotten Curtis in the dungeon when I commanded him through the mind-link. I put on black jeans and a tight-fitting black t-shirt and headed there. Black clothes handled blood better.
