Chapter 16: It Doesn't Really Matter

While staring out the window of his SUV, I wonder what will come of me? Am I doomed to become his servant? Or will I become the Luna that he keeps telling me I am? Right now, I am so unsure of everything and anything that I sit here wishing that I had never met him, even though I realize that we always end up together in every incarnation.

“Is there not a way to change my destiny? Or is everything as set in stone as he says it is?” I find myself asking over and over in my head while the car brings us closer to the village and “our” home.

Even though it has only been a couple of days since we met, I feel that it has been an eternity because the way this has all played out.

“Are you alright? You have not said a single thing since we left.” He asks softly as he runs his forefinger up my lower arm and then down over the top of my hand slowly.

Wondering if he is in a better mood now, I cock my head to look up at him and furrow my brow before asking, “By the way, what was bothering you
