He pulled away before continuing and walking behind me.

"I don’t like ungrateful and disobedient people," I gulped at his statement, thinking he was talking about me when he added, "speaking of which--" I heard his whisper from behind me, "How is Mr. Derrell now?" He leaned against my chair from the back. But I didn’t move for fear of contacting him.

"He is fine. You saw him last night," I replied, not looking back. My heart felt like it was swelling inside my chest.

"You seem upset about it." His voice was huskier, and his slow mannerism of breathing was all I could focus on.

"Home is where one feels safe." Without arguing much, I still gave a statement regarding him breaking into our home last night.
