Chap-52*Love Bite*

I turned around and came face-to-face with Mr. Mayor, who had patched up his head and come back for God knows what.

I burst into tears at the sight of him. He looked exhausted and confused when he stared at us.

"I came here to check on you," Xavier said, lowering his gaze from my face.

"Check on me?" I murmured in embarrassment. The person who hit him was me. I should have been the one to reach out to him. The fact that he came rushing back instantly from the hospital was enough to make me feel guilty.

"I don’t know, I just felt like you were not okay," he mumbled, not raising his eyes to look me in the eye. I have never witnessed him so polite and humble. But he looked broken, void of hope.

"I---- I didn’t mea----" I tried looking for some words to undo the damage, but guess what is the bad thing about words and actions? You can’t take them back. Obviously, I was talking about my perspective of him prior to knowing that there was his side of the story that I needed to know as well.
