Chapter Forty-One

Rush

We’ve been working on Amelda for six hours, but she’s not given an inch. She wants Samara to meet her untimely end and doesn’t give two shits about Mazy.

“It’s no use unless we had the dagger; nothing we do will be of any good.” Landon grabs at his hair, angry at himself for not going to the coffee date with Stella. He believes if he was there that this wouldn’t have happened.

I don’t think it matters whether or not he was there. Eventually, Fenrir would have made his move one way or another.

But… “I think you’re right. Amelda’s far too stubborn to give in.”

“Amelda has been through far worse torture than this.” He scoffs, “Still. I can’t bring myself to be so brutal to a woman, let alone her.”

“Hopefully, Sally will come up with something useful.”

“Sir?” I glance behind me to find Bobby, one of my pack members. “You have visitors.”

I growl, “Now is not the time.”

He clears his throat. “I think you might want to see these visitors for yourself.”

“I’ll come with you.” Landon get
