A few hours later.
I went to the kitchen to cook some Dinner for everyone but to my horror, there wasn't any material for a proper meal to be cooked so I decided to go out to buy some things from the grocery store.
The store wasn't that far from their place, it was at a walking distance.
"Thank you," I said as I took the stuff and left the store.
It isn't too soon after I started walking down the dark sidewalk that I notice the footsteps behind me.
At first, I wasn't too concerned.
A middle-aged lady with a shopping bag had been heading in the same direction as me earlier. So I assumed that it's her making the soft clicking sounds on the concrete behind me.
But, I shouldn't have.
The thing that caused me to get alarmed was that when I lengthened my stride and speeded up my pace, the footsteps speeded up too. And when I begin to speed-walk due to my uneasiness, the footsteps followed.
My heart was jumping in my c
I take another glance out of my shoulder, but he wasn't there anymore.I kept walking while looking back and just when I brought my neck to look forward, he was there. He was right in front of me.He forced his hand on my mouth, to prevent me from screaming and grabbed my wrist forcefully, and pulled me into an ally nearby. He pushed me in the most harshest way to the wall and whispered in my ear."Did you forget about me, darling?"I tried to push him away but that wasn't of any help"Stop resisting Hikari otherwise you know what all I can do" I feared his words and stopped resisting at once."What do you want, Sukuna!" I spoke out of irritation.Sukuna is a senior, a person of a higher authority of those I work for, he's no better than the head of the organization. He's rotten to the core, and all he desires is the work to be done, things to be handled all the way he likes it to be."You don't seem like you're doing yo
It all started 2 years backIt was dark already, I took a glance at my watch to check the time and to my horror, it was even more late than I expected it to be. It's 2 a.m. It took me a little longer than I expected to finish up my assignment at my office.I locked the office and took out my phone to call my driver. But it doesn't seem like a good deed to disturb someone this late, so I decided to walk back home.Soon I felt like I had some company, due to the bad lighting I couldn't make out who was I being followed by.But being a coward I broke into a sprint.Panting in fear and exertion, I continued to push myself to my limit, hoping and praying for some blessed, living soul to walk out and help me.My answer came not how I expected, in the form of a broad chest that I smashed into while checking behind for my pursuers."hey," a rough voice murmurs "Are you okay?"Oh, no.NoI prayed
It went without saying that I got inside the van. I kept my eyes locked on the glistening handgun aimed at my forehead as I gingerly climbed inside the vehicle.Inside, the driver and the passenger's seat were hidden with a divisor similar to that in a limo. The sliding door available for communications between the driver and the passengers was sealed shut. There were seats lining the sides like a SWAT vehicle instead of regular seats.I had no way of keeping track of where we were headed."Hey." Hinata who was watching me with huge sober eyes across the van tilted his head to the side "I know what you're thinking. There's no chance. So don't even try."I glared back at him, unrepentant.I only thing I could possibly be in trouble for could be my family relations but even then I had never been involved. Not ever."What do you want from me? Where are you taking me?" It took me to muster all the courage inside of me to force out
Pfft-"As if" I mocked at his naive thoughts "you can't even touch her" I know I should be mindful of my words but well, what he says is next to impossible. She lives with my father who resides with an inessential level of security. He is way too low level to even make it past the street of that house. They might be a powerhouse in Japan, but here, in Korea, as much as I hate to admit, my dad's more powerful than they are.He slightly smirked at my comment, although as if I cracked a joke.He signals one of his men and soon enough I can see a small body, resisting the man to her full strength, her body slightly familiar, not weak but not strong as well."Take off her mask" The leader asked the man dragging the girl.I gasped at the sight which was beyond belief for me."hikari!? HIKARI!!!!! BAJBXOAN" she muffled as her mouth was filled with a cloth in order to prevent her from speaking, needless to say."NAOMI!" I yelled, evidently su
"How do we do this again?" I questioned Oikawa a third time as I couldn't tackle down the man in front of me. I was immediately taken in by them, as though adopted, I was kept in conditions better than expected. I couldn't see or meet Naomi but I talked to her once a week knowing she's fine.Presently, I'm in the process of being trained to become what, an assassin? I'm becoming what I ran away from years ago, my mom sacrificed her own life so that I could live one that I wish to, and here I am....I miss Mom..Oikawa sighed. "Just what did boss see in you!" it was kind of fun watching him piquing at my dumbness which I was doing on purpose."First of all you Lean back away from the attack. Preventing yourself from getting hurt is the major priority" he said while looking at me and at the same time demonstrating"Second you Grab the person by the arm or shirt as they are punching or attacking."I watched him with scrutiny and deligh
(Present Day)ORIONS's break was almost over, time flew by swiftly, I was so caught up with all the work load that I didn't even realize when the days passed by.It's a glorious evening, warm but not too close, the sun starting it's lazy descent, shadows lengthening and the light just beginning to burnish the trees with gold.Beautiful sunshine, cloudless skies, no one to play with or go out with, nothing to do. Living like this, the way I'm living at the moment is harder in summer when there is so much daylight, so little cover of darkness, when everyone is out and about, being flagrantly, aggressively happy. It's exhausting, and it makes me feel bad if I'm not joining in.The weekend stretches out ahead of me, forty-eight empty hours to fill with nothing but cleaning and cooking.I sighed as I thought of what could've been and what actually is happening. The wide difference between my creative imagination of spending a go
"Hikari? Hikari..." I could hear a voice, nearing me by the second ..."HIKARI!!" I came back to reality as Taehyung jerked me, holding my shoulders."Are you okay?" I could sense concern in his voice, could see it in his eyes.I slightly nodded accompanied with a assuring smile.I took a look at what he was wearing, I had expected him to dress ostentatiously in expensive clothes. But the ones he was dressed in were rather modest, non expensive clothes. He was Dressed in Black, a logical choice for a man of noir, a black denim shirt, folded at the arms, a very simple shirt,it's print unadorned, Black jeans below ripped at some portions, adding up to the look.Expensive leather shoes had some miles on it."Wow… you weren't kidding when you said you had been working out. Look at you! Don't you look dashing?" I giggle slightly as I compliment him. "I don't think we can be discreet if you look this good."
"Don't you dare doze off" he said almost as if he knew I was going to sleep any moment now. "We'll be there soon enough."He said while eyeing me from the corner of his eye. I eye rolled a "yeah I know" look. He turned on some vibrant music in order to prevent from sleeping. The journey was indeed boring, it wasn't a long one though. The car came to an abrupt halt and Taehyung stepped out, I wondered if he had to get something from a shop nearby. But instead he stepped out to open my door, such a gentleman, my heart fluttered at his small kind gestures, I smiled and joined him outside. It's just after seven, it's chilly out here now, but it's so beautiful like this all these strips of garden side by side, green and cold and waiting for fingers of sunshine to creep up and make them come alive. The night rides in on a horse of pure midnight velvet, beckoned by the stars under a the glow of a full moon. As the colours of the day rest, perhaps d
