183. The Angel and The Demon

“Are you sure you will be okay staying home alone today? How about we ask your mother or my mother to come accompany you?” Noah was already on the porch when he asked the question. He had already put on his shoes, and all he needed to do was turn around before opening the door and leaving the apartment to go to work this morning.

That was what he needed to do, but he seemed hesitant as he kept repeating the questions which succeeded in tiring Jessica's ears from continuing to listen to him. The man stood three feet in front of her, and she let out a tired sigh before closing the distance between them. There was only one foot between them when she finally stopped, and she suddenly raised her hands and used them to fix the collar of the man's polo shirt.

“Why do you look a bit disorganized today? Is it because you are worried about leaving me here alone?” Instead of answering, Jessica asked back.
