When her eyes opened

After throwing up, Thea had no strength left in her body. Her wobbly feet could no longer support her almost non-existing weight.

With difficulty, She crawled to the nearest kitchen couch and sat mindlessly. She was not thinking straight. Her brain was not functioning. But that was not the time for her to be weak. She could not afford to be sloppy. She was aware of how impatient Penelope could get and the last thing she wanted was to be found in the sorry state that she was by her. She had to pull herself together. She had to collect herself.

Taking deep breaths to regain her composure she stood and headed to the nearest sink and after washing her face, she regained clarity.

Thinking about what she had heard over the phone, uncontrollable amounts of tears gushed down her eyes and all her initial efforts to wash them were ruined. She had to recompose herself.
