Lucas’s Pov

I leaned back into my plush chair in annoyance. I had to be up for breakfast before Bella woke up but my father and Victor had to have called an emergency meeting at 2am in the morning.

There was no way this meeting would end before five, my father would make sure of it. So I would have to go to breakfast with no sleep and try to pacify Bella the best I could.

“How long until everyone gets here?” I asked as I looked around at the nearly empty board room? Only 3 other people had gotten here. One being Bethany’s father and the other two being random board members. There were at least 15 people missing.

“They will be here soon, relax.” My father demanded in frustration. I grit my teeth as I pushed down what I wanted to say. The last thing I wanted was to start an argument with my father, it never ended well.

“You will tell Bella that you couldn’t sleep because of nightmares.” Victor stated nonchalantly. My face fell as I looked at him in disbelief. “Nightmares?” I dead
