Mikayla watched Cael disappear down the stairs but she was too stunned to say or do anything about it.

Everything had happened so fast. One second they were making out like no tomorrow, the next second, he was gone.

Her body hadn't caught on the change of pace. Her body still drummed with waves of desire.
