Four

Buckingham Palace.

That morning, the palace has been in chaos. One of the princes fell off his new horse during training while the other prince is in a commercial plane returning back to the palace. The queen had showed how badly she was against it; her reasons are what if someone recognizes the prince and attack him?

Ever since she had lost her son who was the crown prince at that time and his wife, she has been extra careful with what the twins did. Through them, she sees her beloved son and without them, there is no way she would ever rule peacefully.

Prince Archie who was currently undergoing treatment in his room winced in pain. He had ended with a bruise on the arm and also on his forehead. He had gotten the horse as a gift from a royal member, and he decided to show his gratitude by training it.

The horse then proved to be stubborn as prince Archie tried his best to make it move forward. Even the man in charge of the horses did his best to stop prince Archie from mounting the horse but he proved to be stubborn also.

The medical personnel then left prince Archie as he was done attending to him.  “How is the queen” He questioned as he had heard that his grandmother, the queen had reacted badly to the news of him falling off the horse.

“As I have heard on my way, she is preparing to pick your brother, Prince Arthur from the airport” his sectary answered. Prince Archie released a chuckle, his grandmother; the queen is trying her best to see his brother will not run off like he did the last time he returned home for a mini vacation.

They had spent a day looking for meanwhile prince Arthur had gone for a light festival far from the palace and he was dressed as one of the light festival workers making it hard for anyone to recognize him. “I like how she is taking precautious measures but mind her; Arthur will do as he wants. She just cannot dictate his life.” Archie uttered as he wore over his shirt.

The council will be having a small party the next day to welcome Arthur back home like the queen always organize and he is yet to pick out an outfit or a date out of the list that the queen had given him to choose.

From taking a look at the list, he instantly knew the queen had removed a name. He never did expect her to remove the name as he sees how adamant she is to get one of them married to the lady. Lady Alice as he knows, he had set his eyes on her maybe once or twice and when he sees her next he will be able to point her out of the crowd. He is not sure if he is starting to like her or what but that should never be possible.

In his whole life, he has never had a proper conversation with her then why will his heart fall for her?  He draped over his tuxedo to welcome his brother properly, it is something he had always done. He majestically walked out of his room with his sectary trailing behind him. They both stood the giant oak door as they watched the car approaching them.

Indeed the queen had tried by making sure she had returned home with the other prince. Which made prince wants to ask his twin brother why he let the queen get to him. The trumpets blows as the queen and prince Arthur exited the car. “Welcome back home brother.” Prince Archie voiced out as he pulled Prince Arthur into a hug.

This is exactly three years since they had set eyes on each other and prince Archie made no attempt to reach out to his brother in the states. Prince Arthur had built the biggest business empire in the state under the name of his parents. It was something he had always wanted to do and now that he was able to achieve his dreams, he had shown no interest in the throne.

He never had the intention of inheriting the throne, after knowing fully that his twin brother is interested in the throne. “Then let just act as if I am invisible here.” The queen scoffed as she uttered those words.

“Welcome back also your highness” prince Archie said as soon as he had released Prince Arthur from his hold. All together they headed inside the palace with joy evident on their faces. As the queen had told prince Archie the other day, she will only let go of prince Arthur when she is sure he has married someone who will never love him for his money or someone who will marry him not because of the title that will given to her.

The queen knows the perfect candidate for that, but it will be so selfish of her if she gets prince Arthur married to her. The council will consider that injustice and it will definitely be the talks of the town, which is something she will never wants.

On the dining table, was food for them to fest on. It is something the queen and prince Archie always do but with Prince Arthur there with them, it seems different for them. It was as if they had gotten an important guest in the palace that needed tour around the palace and also away from the palace.

Because the queen had ordered for a new sectary for PrinceArthur who has been trained and also she asked the newly trained secretary to show the prince around. She doesn’t want to have him away from her sight, because Prince Arthur is the type that is very corny and manipulative.

“Thank you for the food, your highness.” Prince Arthur muttered when he was sure there was no more place for food in his stomach. “If I may be excused, I will like to retire to my room.”He added as he stood up when the queen gave him the go ahead.

Tomorrow is another for them to settle everything.
