Too Late

Alessandra replayed Gemma’s video. It was taken the day before she died. She was crying as if Gemma already knew her death was coming.

They were best friends since high school. Gemma was the only child, and so was Alessandra.

Gemma defended Alessandra from the bullies in school. Since then, they were inseparable.

Alessandra recalled the time she last saw her best friend alive.

There were loud knocks on the door that night. Alessandra was getting ready for bed, and heard it. Her maid informed that it was Gemma.

She was restless. Alessandra led her in her room. Gemma was crying, pacing around.

“Gigi, will you please calm down. I’m getting dizzy watching you. What’s the problem?”

“Sasa, I need to tell you something, and I want you to record me with your phone,” Gemma took her phone beside the table of her bed, and had it over to her.

“Hold on, why would I do that?”

“Just do as I say!” Gemma yelled.

“Fine,” Alessandra started the video recording.
