The smell of medicine and chemicals makes her feel sick. Fabe got up quickly and threw up on a sink near her bed. Later than she realizes that she is in the emergency room.
"What happened to me?" she held her head and returned to bed. She had never felt so dizzy and lousy in her entire life. Then she remembered inside Atty. Gaston's office and their divorce.
“Did I faint?”
"Congratulations, you are one month pregnant! Now our divorce is canceled!" Bryce rolled the curtain to the emergency room. After informing her, Bryce walked out without looking back. Their servant Lyla appeared from nowhere to bring her home. She watched Bryce walking away, turning his back on her.
"I'm pregnant? That's good news! He should be happy he can get his inheritance now," Fabe mumbled to herself.
Their baby is the first grandchild of Hamilton. But why does Bryce sound like she committed a big mistake? Was it about the divorce? If he wants it so badly, Fabe is willing to set him free even if it hurts. She learned to love him for two years, but he never did.
"Miss Fabe," Lyla interrupted her deep thinking, "Sir Bryce instructed me to send you home right away.”
Lyla bows as she speaks.
To avoid Bryce, anticipating he would be home, Fabe planned on locking herself in their room. For sure, Bryce is upset with their impending divorce, and Fabe doesn't want to meddle with his temper right now. Knowing she is pregnant explains her growing exhaustion.
She should be rejoicing over her pregnancy. This is part of the contract, but why does she feel worried about her baby? Fabe already suffered enough. Would Bryce allow the baby to suffer the same faith? Or will he change, and they become a happy family just like she always dreamed of?
She floods her mind with question after question. She doesn’t want her baby to grow up without a mother or a father. Hence, Fabe promise herself that she will do anything to be accepted by the family she chose to live with and by her husband.
Being pregnant is tricky. Everything Fabe smelled twitches her stomach even her taste buds changed. It all made sense when Dean brought sushi the other day. Dean is the only person who cares about her and welcomes her into the family.
However, he doesn't show much affection in front of Sophie or their in-laws. Because of how good Dean is, he is scared of Rafael and Claudia and offers so much submission to them. A puppet he is.
Dean knows Fabe loves sushi and bought her once in a while. But right now, the taste of sushi left her weak. She throws up crazily and nearly includes her intestine. After that, Fabe told Dean to stop buying her sushi and made an excuse that she was trying to be a vegetarian.
When she arrived at Hamilton's mansion, she didn't expect the whole family to wait for her. She felt awkward by their mocking gaze. Master Rafael called her, and she slowly approached him with a racing heart.
“Would they hate me for being pregnant? But this is what the Master ever wanted. Gosh, why do I feel like it's my death sentence!” she muttered. The look on their faces disturbs her.
"Fabe!” Master Rafael stood slowly, holding his staff, and gave her a bear hug.
"From now on, take good care of Fabe. I want her to eat all the nutritious foods and have a regular visit to her gynecologist," he wrapped his arm around Fabe and faced everyone as he made the announcement.
Claudia and Sophie's shocking faces plastered a fake smile as they approached Fabe and congratulated her pregnancy.
Are they for real? Are they thrilled? Fabe's mind is full of doubts with their evil smile. Instead, she thanked them and turned her eyes to Bryce, who showed no reaction.
"I'm so happy for you, Fabe. Soon we will have little Hamilton in the house," Dean hugged her with a wide smile, but his smile faded after seeing Sophie's scowled face.
"Thank you, brother," Fabe pinched her temple and held on to Dean's suit as her head spun.
"Fabe?" Dean caught her before she fell and turned to Bryce, who was abrupt in retrieving Fabe from his arms, carrying her upstairs. Master Rafael instructed Bryce to have her checked by a gynecologist tomorrow. If she is already one month pregnant, she needs to start having proper nourishment for her child.
Master Rafael is smiling happily. Finally, Hamilton will have a grandchild, which Sophie failed to comply with, being married for five years. He frowned at Sophie and Dean.
"You two should start contemplating. I demand a grandchild, and it's been five years," Master Rafael shook his head, leaving them ashamed.
“Uh? Mom! Why did she get pregnant, and I don’t? Of all the people. I was praying for her not to conceive because I know this day will come that Dad will hate me!” Sophie whined like a child.
“The problem is why did Bryce impregnate that lowly woman? I thought he would divorce her now that he has his inheritance!”
“Maybe he likes her after all,” Sophie rolled her eyes, moving to the couch.
“Oh please, you’re making my skin crawl in disgust! But let’s not panic, your father likes to have a grandchild, and this is it. We’ll plan on something. We still have eight months to think.”
Truth is, Sophie and Dean already consulted a doctor to help them conceive. Dean's result showed that he was more than capable of producing a child, but Sophie suffered from the ovarian reserve. In other words, infertility is a condition wherein the quality and number of eggs are lower than expected.
Madam Claudia knows about her condition and keeps it from Master Rafael. She also warned Dean not to spill it or face her wrath. To a woman, the issue of conceiving is devastating, especially since the head of the family is tormenting them for five years for a grandchild.
Bryce laid Fabe in bed. He stared at her for a while and thought of their contract and the divorce. Of course, he is upset about their divorce; hence he won't let his child grow up without a father. Not to mention his father's fondness for having a grandchild. The baby is a blessing. They will fix all their issues and make new arrangements in their marriage after the baby is born.
“Lyla, from now on, you will attend to her needs,” he said and left for the office.

As much as Fabe wanted him to stay beside her, she knew right then in the hospital that she would endure her pregnancy alone. Nevertheless, being Bryce's wife, the mere fact that he wanted a divorce after receiving his inheritance, which he finally did, ended their marriage before it even started. Fabe fell asleep, lost in her sad thoughts.
Nothing hurts more than a wife belittled by her in-laws and, much worst, finding a perfect match for your husband. Fabe overheard Madam Claudia and Lady Sophie talking about Irene Lewis, Bryce's childhood sweetheart, a fashion designer in London. She is back in the country and wants to pursue her fashion career in Italy.
They are setting up a meeting for Bryce and Irene over dinner in a fancy restaurant in hopes of rekindling their suspended relationship. Since Bryce will divorce Fabe, they believe it's about time for Bryce to be with someone capable and worthy of being Hamilton.
Hearing all this, Fabe went to the kitchen, staggering to her feet. She felt her abdomen tighten and scream in immense pain. Lyla called on Dean in the living room and helped her bring Fabe to the hospital. Madam Claudia almost falls to her chair, hearing her terrifying scream.
"What is she doing in the kitchen?!" Madam Claudia turned to Sophie. Her face reddened with anger.
"Mom, don't look at me like that. I was with you the whole time; I didn't ask her to do anything!" Sophie nagged.
Master Rafael was firmed in his announcement earlier to take good care of Fabe, and disobeying him was the last thing she would do. No one dares to defy the Master given his short-tempered and low intolerance of stupidity. He snapped out quickly and would beat them.
Madam Claudia and Lady Sophie had no choice but to accompany Fabe to the hospital. They don't want to inform Bryce so he can focus on his dinner with Irene. If Fabe had a miscarriage, Master Rafael would be furious, and it would all bounce back at them.
But in the back of Sophie's mind, she hopes and prays for a miscarriage so she won't get dragged down by her dad for not conceiving. If she can’t conceive, no one in the family does. She doesn’t care if their money will go to charity or their relatives as long as Fabe cannot receive special treatment from her dad and her brother. She is a nobody, a lowly woman with poor background; she doesn’t belong in their world, moreover, to their money.
On their way to the hospital, Fabe cradles her belly; the baby must have felt her anguish and got affected. Lyla, who is forty-five years old and with one daughter, advises her to stop thinking negatively, preferably, and stop paying attention to the things that could stress her.“Miss, you are in your early stage of pregnancy; the baby is still vulnerable and prone to miscarriage. Please be careful and take good care of your health physically and mentally,” Lyla slowly massaged her head to calm her while Fabe rubbed her belly.“I’m sorry, I can’t help it,” her eyes watered.“I know it’s such a difficult time considering the situation you’re in right now. But try to focus on your baby. This will help your mind off of your resentment.”“I’ll try,” she breathed lightly and accelerated in seconds. Lyla advises blowing breathing so she can relax and ease the baby’s tension. The family’s gynecologist did a series of tests on Fabe. Shortly, the result came out that Fabe is anemic and needs
Morning sunshine.Fabe make it a habit to expose herself to the sun as soon as it starts hailing the earth with its rays. They said it's an excellent natural vitamin D source for her health and her baby.Fabe would stay in her favorite spot outside the garden, where the sun perfectly shines on that area. She enjoys the heat and sweat in the morning. But still, she wishes for Bryce to take her on a nature trip for fresh air.Now that she is five months pregnant, she also needs to do a little exercise to help her deliver soon. She makes it a habit to take a quick morning stroll since the mansion has a large area outside. It's also been five months, but Bryce didn't even bother to show up for her prenatal check. Fabe is still delusional about always waiting for him. He never runs out of excuses every time Fabe reminds him. It was always her and Lyla.“Baby, Daddy is not here, he is busy with the family business, but he loves us...,” Fabe jerked off hearing Madam Claudia’s shrieking voice
Fabe tilted her head to the side, still feeling groggy. She blinks her eyes to focus on the unfamiliar place she's in."Where am I?" she said, holding her head."Miss," Layla said, checking her temperature. Fabe got a slight fever last night and was under observation due to her condition."Who are you?" Fabe kept blinking her eyes, becoming delirious, and couldn't recognize Layla. Then the pain hit her back to her senses."My baby!" she groped her bulging belly and turned to Layla, "How's my baby?""She is fine, Miss, but you almost lost him. Why did you follow me there?""I thought Bryce stay for the night, but…," Fabe's voice quivered in sadness. That Irene insults her. She purposely did that to hurt Fabe."Did Bryce bring me here?" Fabe remember being carried by Bryce before she fainted."Yes, and stayed for a while, but Madam called and asked Sir Bryce to come home because of Miss Irene.""He didn't come back?""No, but he will later."Fabe felt her whole world collapse right befo
Madam Claudia felt restless with Fabe’s situation. To clear Master Rafael’s name, she decided to call Bryce to explain everything and cover-up. He threatens to leave the mansion with his family if they keep secrets from him, and she cannot afford to lose her son.“Bryce Fabe is in the hospital.”“What?! What happened, mom?”“She was gone mad and got hysterical. She tried to attack your father and….”“Fabe attack dad? I’m sorry, mom, I don’t think she can do that. She is pregnant.”“But it’s true. Because of that, she was bleeding heavily, so we rushed her to the hospital.”“How is she? And my baby?”“We are waiting for the doctor’s call. I will notify you after.”“I’m going home.”Thereupon, Fabe was inducted into the hospital and delivered a premature baby by a caesarian section. She was unconscious the whole time, so the doctor acted immediately, or the baby will die. Hours later, Fabe was transferred to the recovery room, and the baby stayed in the incubation room for further exami
One shot. That is all she needs to put the man down. No one can get away with Massimo. There is no place for treachery in his triad. You cross the line; you are dead—his virtue. Being at the top of his game, he makes sure he wins. In this world, he is the king."Peri is on the move. Do you have a sighting of him?" Massimo cleared over the wireless microphone. "On it," the woman answered, walking to the crowd and blending in, following the man, driving slowly along an alley in the car. "Got a sighting of him," she moved quickly, pulling out her gun with a silencer. A group of men was waiting for Peri in that alley. As Peri steps out of his, the woman points her gun at him, blowing his head. The men recognized her. Instead of fighting back, they disperse."Mission accomplished.""Welcome back, Nova," Massimo raised his glass to face his comrade."Cheers for Nova's come back. Problem eliminated," he laughed triumphantly. ****Boarding in a private plane owned by the Donovan Corporati
"We need to leave now!" Levi paid for their drinks and urged Fabe to leave. She was watching Bryce and Irene firmly. "Fabe, this is not the right time for them to see you. Let's go."“Fabe Ava Everette Donovan, come on!” Mimi pulled her hand, but Fabe was glued to her chair. "Ava, what are you doing? This is not how you fight," Levi blocked her sight. Fabe came to her senses, grabbed her bag, and finished her glass of wine. Before leaving, she glances again at the couple. In her mind, Bryce must have been happy to get rid of her and finally get reunited with Irene. "From now on, I don't want you calling me Fabe," she uttered."What do you mean?" Mimi asked confusingly, glancing at Bryce. "Call me Ava. Like you used to call me. Fabe died in the hospital five years ago, and her foolishness ends.""Then welcome back, Ava," Levi grinned, leading her the way out.At the same time, Bryce noticed the woman from a distance. "Fabe?" he rushed into the crowd, but the woman disappeared fro
"So you don't know?" Frank asked."The what?" Fabe paces in her office, baffled. "The Hamilton's has been trying to partner with us for years since you left. Stephen declined, and they keep coming back," Frank explained. "They did?""Yes, and as a matter of fact, the news about the new CEO escalated in the business industry, and companies everywhere are on their feet, dying to be our partners. Isn't that amazing?""It is, can't blame them, but a meeting with my ex-husband? Right now? I am not ready yet.""You can cancel the meeting if you like. Just tell them you are now off for some personal agenda. Tell that to them, Michel.""I, sir," Michel step out of the office.Fabe relaxes in her chair. "I understand your situation, Ava. Stephen is right; this isn't the right time yet for you to face the Hamilton. You should know that they are relentless. Just make some excuses, or better, we tell everyone that the CEO is out of the country. That way, you can avoid them.""Frank, I just got
Fabe's POVNo more hiding. Five years of skulking were enough to delay my vengeance. It's time to face the past; it's time to bury them and be me. But this time, I will shock them. The memories of Liam in the hospital still linger in my mind.Flashback.Seeing my son suffer, fighting for his breath, makes me realize he didn't deserve to be a Hamilton. They don't deserve my son. Bryce made it clear choosing Irene over us. He doesn't care. If I stay, not only will I lose my son, but myself. "Lyla, where's my phone?"Lyla retrieved my phone from his sling bag. It was still unlocked. The photo of Bryce and Irene in bed was still on the screen. I skipped it and dialed Stephen's number."I need you, please," I cried for help. Stephen came along with his men. The doctor was one of his colleagues in college, so it was easy for us to leave without a trace. "I told you, marrying that guy was a big mistake. I've been around them for years, I know, but you wouldn't listen," Stephen scolded me,
