Chapter five

Some things are hard no matter how you think you can live with them apart from being born different, I suffered physical abuse, and it's almost everywhere I go.

"Get up girl, weakness is not an option."  His deep voice and my eyes flicked to him before he toppled over. With that he let his gaze linger on for a few moments then he strode me to the floor.

"That was too fast for a newbie," I said dusting my shirt, he leapt vastly and I couldn't follow the speed, I wonder how he'll be as a wolf, no wonder Andrea choose him as his guard, beta's are always the luckiest one, and I've done but envy them.

"Look at me." He said sternly and I scrunched my face up in discontent and furry. " this is not a joke." He flares his nostrils subtly smelling.

I slide off watching him like hawk, I half expected him to burst at me but he didn't.

"We're done for today." He said clenching tightly onto the cane in his hands, eyes drifted to the mass that was training.

"Lucia," he called out. "We all have our weaknesses, succumbing to them only makes us weaker, so pace up."

As soon as the thought crossed my mind I gave, I ridicule myself for such ridiculous tactics I displayed. Everyone expects perfection from me and it hurts that I can't be the Mulan of my time.

My nostrils flicker when a certain rising smell reached my nose. Immediately goosebumps raise over my arm. Blood. No blood oozed from my nose and I had to rush with a towel tightened in my hands. I pad to the room shutting the door behind me and making a point to lock it.

"This hurts," I muttered to myself, touching the deep clothed blood on the towel, how strange.

The searing water is uncomfortable, drumming against my back, between my shoulder blade. My skin burning to the verge I think it might fall off, and I clenched it off, reaching for the iced cubes and folding them into a towel, I raised my head backwards as I stood looking through the mirror.

I've always preferred the cold, and not the hot water over a moderate temperature or even a slight cold one. I need to feel the pain. I need the distraction almost like a pulse button.

My focus turned back to the knock that echoed through the room and l stepped off the shower to the towel that hung beside me taking a deep breath of the addictive scent clinging to an ominous knock on the door.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked the sturdy figure standing before me steering into the water dripping off my dampened hair and his dishevelled hair made him only hotter.

He pushed himself into the room and I couldn't resist my lovely and congenially mate as he stepped closer to me his steps are slow and my heartbeat intensified, looking down at me with intent, dark eyes. I lean back as he reaches forward but I didn't back enough. His fingers touched my under the chin, igniting me all over, with a tingling feeling as he gingerly pushed it closer.

Heat rushed down when I realised my mouth had been open, I muttered softly "what are you doing?" The temptation was something I couldn't give in to, I shouldn't have, I have to stay clear of it at all cost, reminding myself of Claire, his chosen luna.

"You're bleeding." He said as his hands moved up to my nose. "What happened?" asked as if he cared so much to have abducted me and have eyes on me now and then.

"Answer me-" He inquired of me with some command on his tune.

"What, it doesn't matter." I cut in.

With that he let his gaze linger on me, there was a staring cloud that I almost couldn't pierce through, his eyes, he then dropped his t-shirt carelessly on the bed. His voice is cold as he instructed me, Begrudging flat.

"Put this on." He said as he walked towards the door. I blink, flabbergasted, his concept sounds surprising…funny. Perhaps even.

"Why do you think I'd want your scent?" Andrea growls balling his hands into a fist. It was ostensively… Just do as I say something.

Closing the door behind him with a loud click to disrupt the nerve-wracking stillness.

My eyes blur into the moment as I dived into the bed, it was soft too nice for me, but I had to do my best and make things work. I didn't want to work through the shadow but it was what I knew, it was my safety blanket but I have grown used to that safety blanket that it has become a trait.

Taken aback by the confidence in his words, I raise my eyebrows. Of course, assholes would do, with his pompous need to have confidence showing up my profuse need to crush it.

The determination as I dashed into my gown instead of the t-shirt that staggered on the bed eating up with his scents, I wandered down the hall to a stop in the common area that overlooked the bottom of the packhouse and for once again his eyes did it, lingering on me, but with indifference.

"What is this?" He radiated and I could feel the impact.

"I prefer the gown," I said slyly.

"Oh really…" there comes the anger streak, defiantly, he is not used to objection, I anticipated Andrea's reaction.

"I'd stick to myself, rather than being a pushover to you," I said looking into the lamplight. A quick growl rumbled on his face as he yanks closer.

"You leave me with no option then, mate." He mouthed.

I froze at his words as he make advances towards me, like the dream I had, this is it, the essence of all, light colliding with darkness. All I felt was his emerald openings pitching flirting.  Clouds shifted and I felt a fever in my bread basket,
