Chapter seventy

"So what do you plan, now that your mate is here?" Romanov inquired as he held the bowl in his hands sitting on the sofa and staring through it as he fetched from the bowl, his voice cold.

"I don't know, maybe I would—" Hooked in my throat I became speechless.

"You can't deny yourself." It was obvious that I was in denial. Everyone around me was aware of the decisions that I would make, but I accepted my denial and chose to live by it, even if it cost me the one thing I felt deep inside, my mate's affection.

"He shouldn't be able to come near me, he rejected me not once but twice,"

"But that was because of the schism between us,"

"That is it, I was on the brink of death and just when the truth unravelled he let me die not minding what we had shared." The memories of that time made me high on adrenaline.
