ALEX'S P. O. V

She honestly expected Noah to be disgusted by her. Figure it was not a story and walk out. Never speak to her again but what she did not expect him to do is pull her into his strong arms. He brushed her braids back and lulled her to sleep with the reassuring rumbles. That story was meant to kinda push him away or see if he would stay. He said nothing maybe there is no real reason to stay.

Noah knew that was the tip of the iceberg. There was more, more that he should have run before his wolf imprints on her. Run before he catch feelings like a bug. Run before he is trapped in this complicated mess. Run. She needs him to run but right now all she could do now was wait for a response.

Alex woke up still comfortable still in Noah's arms. She did not dare move in fact his breathing style told her, the alpha is awake.

Dammit. Dammit. Dammit. Panic over rode her peace of mind after sleep. Trying to get up as quiet and slowly as possible. An arm pulled her down and her eyes met his and for a moment they stared at each other intently.

"Morning."

"Sorry about last night, you can leave now. I will be fine."

She ducked her head and did her best not to move from his embrace, she also kept her eyes averted. It was easier is way, to not watch him walk out of her life.

"Alex you are mine. Do not ask me to let you go because I can't. You awoken my need to protect, provide and care for you. I do not know how nor do I care about the explanation. I only want you. Love, you do not have to be strong any more. From this day till the end you will lean on me and allow me to share in your problems."

Shit that was enough to let his walls crumble and tears escaped. She is tired of running, fighting, hurting, hating, she is tired being scared all the time. She wants him, to lean on him. How can she do that now she has been alone for far too long, she is kinda scared to dip her toe into a relationship. So far Noah's attention has been nothing but intriguing for her.

"There is a reason I haven't dated anyone since-"

"I don't just want you because of that, I mean I do I would definitely be lying if I said otherwise but there is more to you. More that brings me a great deal of happiness. I am giving you a choice and I will respect whatever decision you make."

"Let me make breakfast. How does muffins sound?"

After they had breakfast Noah left going to the gym and all she could do was replay the first night spent together.

Even out in public, all she could think about was the alpha. Every time she thought of a reason against being with him, memories in his arms as well as the feelings gave her a reason to hold on.

Noah understood her over compulsive ways and let her be without complaint. For example yesterday she was far gone in deep into her past. Noah got him out of the kitchen before she could comprehended her surroundings, he came to her rescue like her prince charming.

"Lex. Lex. Alex! Where are you?"

"Huh?"

"I bet it has to do with a certain someone."

"No."

"Usually when you thinking, you do not have a smile on your face."

"Did Noah finally ask you out?"

"Yes."

"And?"

"Nothing. I do not know what to do."

"You considering it."

"No. Maybe."

"When I had feelings for you, you never once considered being with me in that way. I say you should go for it give your feelings a chance to explore."

Being with him was not the issue, letting him go when the time comes might.

NOAH'S P. O. V

"So, what happened yesterday between you and Alex?"

"Toby. I have to get to class."

"It is still early and your class starts at half past nine."

"If that is the case, let us go to the faculty of medicine. They going to ask for donations to support their class research but I think Alex will be selling something."

"Since when do you care?"

"Since I set my eyes on my Axx. Common. Hurry."

"Okay fine. Let me go, I can walk on my own. Does that mean... What extent are your feelings?"

"We are going to med faculty unprovoked, just to make sure shes okay. Take a wild guess Toby."

"No need to be snippy, we here. I will go give Lucas my water bottle it is very hot and I do not want him to get sun stroke."

Indeed Alex had already sold out two buckets and was now left with one bucket. He is proud to report she had less content inside, that's how good his fated mate is at baking.

His fated handed him a cupcake she made. He made his way to take out his wallet but Alex stopped him, her face trying to hide the shyness over riding the cuteness of her cheeks.

"No don't. I wanted to do something to show my appreciation for last night- this is the only thing I can think off right now. I saved this one for you, I hope you like mint chocolate chip. If not you can just take-"

This time Noah stopped his little mate's rambling by taking a bite of the delectable gift.

"This cupcake is delicious, thank you. I will come over later to take you for lunch."

It was not so a command but something he would do. He dropped money into the donation box, bringing his face so close to her. To the one looking in it probably looks like something more than the reality.

"This is for the donation, I came all this way to support you and your class"

He gently brushed the stray hair from her face back. He was amazed to see a small group of groupies squealing, taking pictures of the two. Alex took his hand dropping it from where it rested and he laughed because now it looks like she held his hand. Good these groupies sure made it easier for him to lay his claim in the Campus, as large as it was. Soon if it was to be fates will the whole world would know that Aex is his.

LEO'S P.O.V

"You seem to be really close to Noah."

Leo wrote down the dates and Alex stacked the boxes in the storage room. 'Since they had less than four years left of medical school, familiarizing themselves with the stock is crucial' according to their professor who will never admit the fact he just wanted free labor. The equipment was a duo task, it would go on until everyone has done it and the rotation will start again once more. Today it was their turn to record.

"He won't leave me alone."

She shrugged, nonchalant. Hiding her adorable flush behind the box of gloves.

"Why are you blushing now? You went to lunch with him."

"As friends and I am not blushing."

"Okay-okay. Are you sure he sees it that way? Believe me you are not observant with blatant interest"

"I am fine Leo."

The door opened. Lucas stormed in with a grave expression on his face. Leo's phone bared and he visually relaxed.

"Leo. Where is your phone?"

"Here. Why?"

Leo handed Lucas his phone.

"I believe in someone so much, to do this."

"What are you talking about Lucas?"

Alex heard a buzz on her phone and her eyes widened. She turned around with a fake smile hiding her phone behind her back.

"You right I do want to talk about Noah and I. Let us go to my apartment because the story is long."

Alex tried to drag him but he would not budge until they told him what is going on. Was curiosity worth suspicion? No defiantly not.

They had to tell him what they were trying to keep from him. They knew once he makes decision it would take a guy flying a jet into the ocean to change his mind.

Surrendering they will, they handed him the phone and what he saw made him sick. Literally he ranched in the nearest trash can and a few minutes later he handed Lucas his phone.

"Please give it back to Jayden."

"Leo. Just give him a chance to explain?"

"Can you explain?"

"Well... No... But-"

Then there is nothing to explain.

"Thank you. Lex can I still take you up on that offer?"

He grabbed his bag and books, they were done anyways so it would not harm anyone if they left sooner than expected. What did they expect their group is one of competence and friendship and made such a boring task fun,efficient and most important easy.

"Sure man. Lucas?"

"I will come over later. I have a promise to up hold."

"Lucas?"

"Do not worry just take care of Leo."

Leo felt more pain than he expected, broken hearted the space in his heart that Jayden made his way in. That space was empty. Jayden cheated on him with a human, the one human he tried to keep him away from. He thought he was lacking because he is not an omega, but now he wants humans too.

He feels hollow. Convincing Alex to go to the bar for 'one' drink that turned into five, six, maybe seven with is secret stash of alcohol for shifters. Now he was in that perfect state where he felt nothing, where the memory was his happy place.

Delighted alcohol made his problems vanish. At some point the night crowd arrived and pushed a fussy Alex away. Leo did not notice he just found himself in someones arms. He wanted to go back to his friend but his legs refused to go the right direction.

"What..."

He slurred... Right there and then he was pushed on the wall as lips tried to meet his. Leo was rendered helpless because he could not do anything about this. The lips dropped to his neck, fuck there is no way he would ever be into this and he did make it his displeasure vocal but the person did not stop.

"No...Let me... No... Stop."

Suddenly his head was slammed onto the wall and darkness met him half way.
