Bonus Chapter 19

It didn’t take long for the takeout to arrive. Damien had gone to shower so it was Ria who collected the delivery and signed it. She placed the takeout on the table and took her own out.

Just as Damien had said; she was always getting hungry. By the time Damien came out of the room in his pajamas and wet hair, Ria had eaten a quarter of her food. She watched as Damien sat on the rug and started eating.

Damien ate slowly and both of them ate in silence. After they finished eating, Damien packed the plates into the dustbin and sat down on the rug again after giving Ria a bottle of soda.

“I never met my mom. I don’t if she’s dead or alive. I don’t know who she is either” Damien started and Ria listened as she sipped her soda.

“My dad and I lived a comfortable life except that he liked gambling. I talked to him about it and he minimized it or so I thought. He also didn’t tell me he had stage three cancer” Damien said as he swallowed the lump in his throat.

“I got home one day to receive a
