The next day everything was different. A great sun illuminated Gloria’s life, not only on the street but also in her own mind. She calmly prepared breakfast, and as she paced from side to side, her legs were shaking from the incredible session she had the night before.
She whistled as she went from one place to another. The solemnity that characterized her was gone, and she was much more relaxed in her own skin. At the kitchen door, Jake watched her while smiling.
