Chapter 69 - Amelia

Faster, I mindlink to Ryder. We’re in our wolf forms, running hard through the Okanogan Forest of upper Washington state, near the Canadian border. We’re at the northernmost edge of Roman’s territory and away from the rest of the pack to make sure that Ryder doesn’t unintentionally hurt someone when he shifts unexpectedly and has trouble reigning in his wolf.

He’s doing well though. He’s been able to shift of his own volition three times in this past week. That doesn’t sound like much, but he’s not even supposed to have his wolf. And at this point, any progress is good.

Plus, he’s only wolfed out on emotions once this week. I’m pretty damn proud of the little guy.

Though, I would never call him that to his face. One, have you ever called a teenager something like that? Not the best way to garner trust. And two, he’s got a big ass wolf. I’d be able to take him down. Eventually. But I’d likely take a lot of damage and, again, not the best way to garner trust.
