Amara Nicholas
"Ah!!" I let out a loud scream, nearly causing the driver to lose control. I was surprised by the appearance of my spouse. "What seems to be the issue, madam? Are you okay?" Mr. Timothy asked me, his voice filled with concern, as he slowed down and cautiously gazed at me through the car's rearview mirror. "Apologies. You can keep driving. I was just surprised to see my husband's face online," I nervously told him. Mr. Timothy smiled, and I made a mental note to avoid screaming foolishly in the future. The drive resumed, and I gazed at the face of the man who would soon be my husband. Just Darlington Briggs. I had previously encountered him when I entered the university. Our paths crossed and I accidentally stepped on him while walking with my friend Esther Peters. Esther was an actress who had a keen eye for attractive and wealthy men at the university. I found it surprising that Esther Peters, who came from a well-off background, could be influenced by money so easily. After we graduated from university, Esther traveled to a different country and we lost touch, despite her wealthy background. It would have been convenient if she had been on F******k so I could find her easily, but she hasn't reached out to me even though she knows my real name online. I silently admired the attractive sight on my phone screen. I had apologized to Darlington then, even though I didn't know his name, and simply said, "I'm sorry." He stared at me in shock, didn't respond, and then walked away. I never saw him again after finishing my schooling there. He might be in his final year, and I confided in Esther about my secret crush on him. Now, observing the attractive face that had matured over time, I believe he was the only man I ever admired then. I noticed other individuals who typically looked up to me, vying for my attention, but I didn't allow them an opportunity. I went out with Esther multiple times, hoping to run into Darlington again and learn more about him. Unfortunately, I rarely have the opportunity to see him. He was on my mind constantly, the way my heart raced when he caught me as I stumbled. His strong arms embraced me, preventing me from stumbling to the ground as I was captivated by his presence. Perhaps that's why he didn't speak to me. Esther taught me the importance of maintaining a composed and confident demeanor, allowing others to be captivated by your presence. Oops, that wasn't on purpose. Darlington was quite tall and looked incredibly handsome in his casual attire. As he walked away without responding, I noticed a few girls in our school giving me angry looks, as if I had purposely tried to get his attention. I pondered, "Is this man now my husband?" I was astonished. Darlington's appearance has greatly improved. I quickly glanced at some of his timeline photos, but my mood shifted when I came across a picture of him with another woman. "Didn't Father inform me that Darlington was single and waiting for me?" It was heartbreaking to see a photo of Darlington Briggs with the stunning model he proposed to. It was heartbreaking to witness the joy on their faces as he got down on one knee and proposed. The sound of my heart shattering echoed as I witnessed their beautiful union, accompanied by Darlington's caption: "She said yes to me. I'm feeling really happy at the moment." I felt a rush of emotions, my eyes filling with tears and my heart racing. I had a strong desire to shout and ask the driver to stop the car and take me back home to my father's house. However, I recalled my father's advice to bring my children and his future grandchildren back home. In addition, I recall inquiring with my mother about Darlington's relationship status. I realized I had never been in a relationship; I was inexperienced. It's unlikely for a man who grew up in the city with a billionaire father not to have a girlfriend, as my mother described them and advised me not to overpack the night before. My fashion sense didn't impress my mother either. I was surprised and hurt when I saw the photos of Darlington and his girlfriend. He tagged her profile along with his own as "my baby." Jenna Colton had a substantial online following. At least a million followers. She was a well-known figure in Country Z, and I'm curious about the reception I would receive there. "I believe this man was unaware of our marriage. I doubt he would accept me, especially with 'his baby' present." I muttered, reluctantly followed my parents' wishes and embarked on the journey to the city, despite my own reservations. It was important to me to fulfill my parents desires before embracing my independence. I need directions to the Briggs Family Mansion to visit Darlington and his family. I need to confirm if I am married to him or not. My father was deceived by his friend, who took care of everything. I couldn't believe I was forced into a marriage with my father's friend, pretending to be his son's wife. Once I arrive in the city, I'll discover the answers. Looking at numerous pictures of Darlington and the beautiful, fair-skinned woman has left me feeling quite down. I didn't feel as attractive or elegant as her, and I was aware that I would be judged and seen as a villain for getting involved in someone else's relationship. However, I needed to verify all the facts before making a final decision. I settled into the car seat and we drove for hours to the city. I quickly dozed off in the rear.Darlington Briggs! I woke up in my bedroom, ready to embrace the start of a new day. The start of a new beginning. I was thrilled to go downstairs and share the news with my parents. I've decided to get married this year and start a life with Jenna Colton. I have loved Jenna for the past five years. I was introduced to her through her older brother, Bruce, who happened to be my closest friend during our school days. We both took the same business course and currently reside in Country Z, right in the heart of the city. The Colton family was a prominent and affluent family in this area. Jenna is a successful actress. She is a model and has been featured as the face of many brands. Despite her numerous surgeries to enhance her appearance, I still love her. I have strong feelings for Jenna and I am confident in my decision to propose to her last weekend. My father hasn't responded to my post, and I can't find him online since my engagement news with Jenna spread. My father intenti
Darlington Briggs; I quickly stood up from the black couch and looked at my father with surprise. "Whose wife, Dad?" I double-checked with my father, seeking confirmation. To my dismay, he reiterated his previous statement, firmly stating that I am not allowed to marry Jenna. "I married my best friend's daughter because she is well-mannered and not like Jenna Colton." "Hey, Dad... I find it hard to believe that you're expressing such a viewpoint. I will be marrying Jenna, not you! Why do you think you can decide my life and force me to marry someone else?" "That's sufficient, Darlington! Please refrain from disrespecting me in this house. One can only truly understand from the perspective of experience; no matter how high you climb, it remains out of sight. "Jenna is not a suitable candidate for marriage due to her questionable character. Can't you notice her appearance with her synthetic body? Will she want to start a family with you? I suspect she may be involved with her colle
Darlington Briggs! Imagine having a spouse forced upon you by your parents. How would that make you feel? Someone I haven't met yet? My father left us by going up the stairs and returning to his room. "Mother," I looked at my mother, trying to understand the news my father had just shared about my upcoming marriage, as if it were a signed agreement. "Please relax, Darlington. No way you're marrying Amara Nicholas as long as I'm around," my mother declared, while my younger sister giggled, earning a stern look from me. "What's amusing, Samara?" My mother asked her first. "Your father didn't marry you off like that, right? So, you find it amusing to mock your older brother, huh?" "No, Mom." Samara coughed and apologized to our displeased mother, saying, "Mom, I'm sorry. However, this is quite amusing. How did our dad manage to marry Darlington off without our knowledge or his consent, and now his wife is already on her way here? Ha ha!" "Samara!!" Mom scolded Samara, who quickly
Darlington Briggs! After breakfast with my mom and sister ended, I got up from the dining chair and left the house. "Darlington, where are you headed?" My mother asked me, looking concerned. I reassured my mother that I would be back soon after going out. "Alright, my child. Shouldn't we keep Jenna in the dark? I'll take care of everything for you, so you don't have to worry about any overreactions. Later, you can inform Jenna about your father's intentions to arrange a marriage with someone undesirable." I let out a deep breath. "Okay, mom. I won't tell Jenna, but I want to leave this house immediately. I'd rather not be here when that woman arrives," I said, slightly annoyed. "It's fine." "You'll be okay out there," my mother reassured me. "Okay, Mom. I assure you, I will behave appropriately." I bid farewell, embracing my mother. Even though I was taller than both her and Samara, their happiness is important to me because they are my family. Unfortunately, my dad is quit
Darlington Briggs; I quickly took a bath and asked for some food. Later, I was abruptly awakened from my afternoon nap by the sound of my phone ringing on the table in my room. I quickly got out of the hotel bed, and noticed that it was already evening. I was disappointed because I had expected Jenna to arrive earlier. I noticed my phone ringing and saw that it was my mother calling. "Hey, Darlington. Where are you?" I responded to my mother's question with a yawn and a stretch, saying, "I am in a special place, Mom. Why are you bothering me with a call?" My mother told me that the new lady had arrived at our mansion. She said my father had been trying to reach me, but my phone wasn't connecting. "Where are you located? Start returning to our residence now." "Why, Mother? I already mentioned that I have no interest in seeing this lady. I have no interest in her identity or origin. I mentioned that Father could proceed with marrying her as his second wife." "Darlington!" I heard
Darlington' POV Jenna pivoted to look at me. She shakes her head and says, "No, Darlington," though her lips tremble. "Not right now. At this point, I am unable to conceive. In addition to the best international model award, I would like to be named this year's top model. You also expect me to renounce my 50 million dollar contract and put it all aside in order to become your baby mama. No, right now I am unable to do that." My sigh was deep. I said, "Not a baby-mama for me, Jenna, but as my wife," getting out of bed and approaching Jenna, who stood with her arms encircling her chest. "I know Darlington." "Please give me some time to sort myself out first." Jenna said, "I am not ready to get pregnant just yet. "Um." I was certain that my father would not not reconsider. especially now that he is married his friend's daughter on my behalf. Jenna's persistent refusal to become pregnant for me was frustrating, and I was not prepared to give up my role as CEO of Briggs Group just yet
Darlington's POV What Jenna did with the money she typically got from her job did not concern me. She had been looking sweet for me for a long time. I also knew that her older brother, Bruce Colton, was a friend of mine, and that her parents were billionaires. Jenna was not lacking anything; she was stunned by my request, but she responded with a firm shake of her head, "No, darling. To reach the top of my rank, I put in a lot of work. I can not give up right now. I am currently unable to conceive. It will destroy both my career and my physique. You are aware of all the issues a woman faces following childbirth." "What?" I gasped, turning to face Jenna in disbelief. "Damage your physique? Is that all you care about: your appearance and your money? How about marrying the way you have always wanted and starting a family together?" I asked a question. After scowling and coming to meet me, Jenna said, "Darling, we will have children." It is not that I will not try. However, not r
Darlington Briggs: "Okay," Jenna agreed, and I called on the room service. Soon, our meals arrived, and I refrained from telling Jenna that my parents had already found a new wife for me, and this was especially true for my father. I couldn't tell Jenna about it. Not when she is suggesting that we use a surrogate mother and has no desire to become pregnant for me. I was frustrated by her constant refusal to get pregnant. But yes, I was a billionaire, and I could afford to get a surrogate mother, but I wouldn't say I liked the idea of it. I wanted to see my wife become pregnant for me and bear our child. I don't know if I am being selfish about this. But I honestly wanted to see my wife become pregnant. I knew that some women had lost their lives through the pregnancy journey, and it wasn't an easy task like that. I sighed and finally had dinner with Jenna. "Ain't you going home today?" Jenna asked me as she was through with her meal. We both had a plate of jollof rice and frie
