Rogue's POV

"Goddess! What mess is this?" Xan's exclamation yanked me back to reality.

I stared down at Kathrine and the blood trailing under my fingers at her back. Although my brain was starting to shut down, I forced myself up on my feet and rushed towards my mansion.

"I agree she's beautiful, Rogue, but don't you think it's dangerous to take a strange young woman inside your—"

"She's not a stranger." I snarled amidst my heavy breathing.

Xan was taken aback. I could feel his eyes burning holes in my back and various questions swimming in them. But thankfully he didn't make it anymore difficult for me than it already was by keeping his mouth shut.
