She eagerly waited for Gillian and Knox to appear, but her smile faded when she saw Lucille coming. Nevertheless, there was a lingering smile plastered on her face all because of her brother, Gavin. Kirsten had a good impression about the kid and held no aversion towards him.

“How are you doing now?” Lucille said gently but Kirsten could not feel her sincerity. Unlike Gillian, even without words and only her gaze, she could feel how she loved her.

“I’m good,” Kirsten answered with a small voice and then looked at her brother. Her eyes reddened looking at him and took a sharp breath to stop herself from shedding tears.

“How are you, Gavin?” Kirsten asked with a little tremor in her voice.

“I’m fine, thank you for asking,” Gavin answered shyly. Kirsten wished their circumstances were different.
