The days passed by in a blur and before Amanda could process it, she is standing in front of her closet trying to find the right outfit for her date with Alan, Jonathan was once again in Malia's house.
She felt a sense of Deja Vu wash through her when she remembered the last time she was in such situation. She chuckled at the memory and kept searching through her closet when she received a notification from her phone. She hurriedly picked it up and a smile graced her face when she saw the message and who it is from.
"Hey! I know you probably standing in front of your closet now, so stop searching and just pick up a sundress. I'll pick you by 4 pm, which is an hour from now." _ Alan.
She smiled and sent "sure, and thank you" when the message got delivered, she quickly picked out a red sundress that stopped a little above her knees, the dress was designed with white polka-dots and it had a thin hand.
"Perfect!" She mumbled as she looked at the dre
Amanda and Alan cuddled up with each other in silence, watching the sunset with a smile on their faces; Alan reminiscing on the kiss Amanda gave him a while ago when her voice brought him out of memory lane. "I grew up in Nigeria; my mother's country" she started, taking him by surprise but instead of commenting he just pulled her closer to his body and she continued talking "It's a nice country, but as always in every country, there is always a bad part of it, and I grew up in the worst part of Nigeria with the worst family ever" a faint smile appeared on her face as she reminisced on the old memories. "At first, it was good. We were poor but happy, I barely have memories of those days but I knew it was good. But everything started going downhills when my mum started drinking, it started with a few drinks and coming home tipsy to being wasted every night, and soon enough my father joined her" she let out a little laugh after she said that, making Alan place a chaste
"here you go," Alan said, presenting a blanket and some folded clothes to Amanda, they got back a while ago and he brought her to the guest room after 10 minutes of trying to persuade her to sleep in the same room as him, which she vehemently refused to, resulting in them doing a quick cleaning the guest room. "You can change into that, and come downstairs for dinner" he informed her with a smile, which she returned."Thank you, but I think I'm full, can't stomach anything anymore," she said, patting her stomach with her free hand; she ate to her fill during the picnic."Oh, that means you'll be going to bed after taking a shower?" He asked, secretly hoping she will say no. He wants to spend more time with her, he feels their picnic date was just a few minutes when in reality, they spent more than two hours there."I said I'm not hungry, not that I am sleepy. I'll come downstairs when I'm done taking a shower" she said with an eye roll, and Alan heaved a sigh of
The atmosphere in the room was tense and the two individuals in the room could feel it, in as much as they tried to ignore it.Amanda cleared her throat, drawing Alan's attention to her "Most of the designs were sent to you yesterday, and I believe you would have gone through them" she said.He cleared his throat too and forced a smile on his face, "oh yes, I did. That'd partially the reason I'm here".That perked up Amanda's interest, "yeah? You didn't like the designs?" She asked a bit nervous as she personally came up with those designs, she hasn't worked on a piece of Egyptian jewelry before but she decided to give it a try in order to impress him.He chuckled and shook his head, "that's not the issue, I love them and I'm very impressed with them. I came because I want to talk about the quantity that was previously stated, I would like to increase them"She released a deep breath and smiled at him, "Alright, but then you'll have to increase you
Amanda caught a glimpse of her so-called sister as soon as she walked in, she sat in a secluded part of the cafe sipping coffee and looking around. Amanda took a deep breath and walked over to her. Dropping her coffee, Alice smiled at her little sister when she came close enough. She saw her when she drove in and noticed when she walked into the cafe but only decided to acknowledge her presence now, "Glad to see you, again" she said with a warm smile that could have fooled anyone, but Amanda knew better. Without waiting for an invitation, Amanda sat down opposite her and went straight to the point "I'm not glad to see you, so save me the stress and disgust by going straight to the point" Her words made Alice burst into laughter, placing her hand on her mouth as she did; trying to look graceful, but in Amanda's eyes she looked like the devil herself "Ahh, always the funny one" Alice remarked, clearing her throat lightly. That made Amanda scoff and roll
"Did you see that?" Jonathan asked excitedly, nudging Amanda's shoulders and pointing to the TV where Naruto was currently playing. She snapped out of her thoughts and looked at the TV, "yeah I did, that was super cool" she said even tho she has no idea what he was talking about, she hasn't been paying attention to the anime, and not because she didn't want to.The image of Alan walking in with another girl has been stuck in her mind and she can't seem to shake it off, and in as much as she tries to deny it; it broke her heart and it's still breaking her heart as she thinks of it. Sighing, she returned her gaze to the TV and tried to concentrate on it, but she just couldn't."Are you okay?" Jonathan asked all of a sudden and she looked at him in surprise, wondering why he is asking that out of nowhere."Why? Is anything wrong?" She questioned, forcing a fake smile on her face."Nothing really, you've just been sighing for as long as I can remember.
Amanda and Alan were still lost in their passionate moment, ravishing each other's lips when someone cleared their throat. They immediately jumped away from each other and started looking around the kitchen in embarrassment.A sly smile appeared on Adilah's face as she stared at them and crossed her arms on her chest, "Mmm... I never knew food could be prepared that way too" she said teasingly, wiggling her eyebrows at the embarrassed couple."Umm.. the thing is..." Amanda started, trailing off as she looked at Alan for help, but he fixed his gaze on his toes. She glared at him and then turned back to Adilah with a tight-lipped smile, "please hold on, I want to microwave the food" she said with a nervous chuckle and started dishing out the food again but Adilah stopped her."No need for that dear, Liam just texted me that he is back and I'll have to be on my way. I'll make sure to visit again before we travel back" she said with an apologetic smile and Amanda's
Alan smiled tenderly and grabbed her hand, "I was going to ask you this at our date this evening, but it turned out like this. So here goes nothing, Amanda West, will you love to be my girlfriend?" Amanda immediately removed her hands from his as if she was burnt by the question, she cradled her hands to her chest as she stared at him in shock. She wasn't expecting him to ask that question anytime soon, "but..we... Alan..." She stuttered out, trying to form words for the thoughts in her head. "Listen, you don't have to go over all the possibilities or overthink it, okay? Just say what your heart wants, I'll take any answer you give" he reassured her with a smile, and she just bobbed her head in response. She stared at him in silence, before she took a deep breath and blurted out "yes" with a smile. She knew what her answer would be when he asked her the question, but her brain just went into an overdrive at how sudden he asked it. He smiled brightly a
Alice's hands shook as she tried to unlock the door to her apartment, millions of thoughts kept running in and out of her mind as she tried to accept the fact that her brother will be living with her."What's the hold-up, Alice?" Andrew asked, drawing closer to her "need help?" he asked in what was meant to be a seductive voice, but only ended up disgusting Alice."I got this," she said in an audible whisper and pulled the door open, he smiled and spanked her butt as he walked in. Alice glared at his back when he walked in before she took a deep breath and walked in after him, closing the door behind her.Andrew's eyes roamed around the room, and the look of disgust was clear on his face, "Is this where you live?" He asked in a condescending tone, and Alice fisted her hands in anger."This is what I could afford with the money you gave me" she managed to say in the calmest voice she could muster. He looked around the room again and sighed, before p
