Chapter 8 - Escaping The Pain To Find The Truth

Silence, the only thing that existed except for the occassional splash of boots against the tunnels puddles. Thomas hadn't said anything to her since the incident. From that kiss, a fire had been started within her that she never wanted to live wthout but he seemed to be burned by this passion. He didn't glance at her, and his shoulders were bunched up, his fists clenching from time to time. Maria was at the end of her patience, she was tired, hungry, and done playing games, she haulted before folding her arms. He proceeded to walk further until he noticed that he could longer hear her footsteps following him. 

"Whats your problem? ever since our kiss you've been acting weird." she snapped.

"I just need.." he said but stopped himself upon hearing a faint voice in the background. 

He turned to her, she was raising an eyebrow him, her arms not folded anymore, but laying limply by her sides. She was about to speak but he beat her to it.
