Dylan's Point Of View

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my mom and Casey bring Aurelia out and put her into the vehicle. Danciana came up to me, concern etched on her face. "I told you, Dylan, I had a goddamn feeling Aurelia was still alive and your mom lied to you," she said, her voice intense.

I shook my head, trying to process what I was seeing. "Danciana, she doesn't look alive," I replied, my voice trembling.

Danciana grabbed my arm, her eyes burning with conviction. "It's obvious they sedated her. Can't you see that Aurelia's sleeping?" she insisted.

I blinked, taking a closer look at Aurelia's still form. "I can see that, but…" I began, my heart racing.

"Don't be silly, Dylan. Don't overreact," Danciana cautioned, her grip on my arm tightening slightly.

I turned to her, a mixture of fear and anger in my eyes. "How can I not overreact? They took her from me, told me she was dead!"
