Chapter Fifty
Max’s POV
I couldn’t believe my brother would try something so stupid and I was ready to kill him! As soon as I started filling the glass of water, I felt it. Charlie was panicked and for the first time I heard her in my head, a weak whimper, “Help”.
Leaving the glass behind I rushed back up the corridor and could smell my brother, but I could also scent that Charlie’s heat was almost at its peak again. I try the door but its locked and in the end I smash it down, I was not going to leave my brother with my mate, especially now she was officially marked and mine.
As the wooden door shattered, my brother stares at me, he is only wearing a pair of low slung shorts and it was obvious why he was there, he was hoping to help Charlie with her heat. Max’s POV Agreeing to let her go was the biggest struggle I had ever faced, now she was marked it felt like I had more pressure to protect her, plus I had Ripper calling me all the names under the sun for letting her go. When she finally contacted us, we both breathed a sigh of relief and I felt him relax as much as I did. Charlie could not tell us where she was but she said she was safe and unharmed and with that she cut the mind link and there seemed to be no presence of her heat. Alexander’s POVIt was strange in the packhouse, don’t get me wrong I am enjoying my time with Kayla, even more now she has moved into my room, what was strange was seeing Max moping about. Normally he was so head strong, so confident yet without his mate he seemed like a lost puppy.I knew he was communicating with Charlie as he told us so, and she was getting better at using her powers but there was still no sign of her returning home and until the Luna ritual was completed, Max was the only one able to speak to her which is extremely frustrating.As the days passed, Max’s anger continued to grow and he would take his anger out on any little thing that pissed him off. Charlies POVI hadn’t spoken to Max in days, mostly because Kiwi was always around and after a couple of days of being here she began having guards follow me around.
