Chapter Thirty-eight

Max’s POV

I waited for hours before sneaking into my mothers room, an omega confirmed that she had gone to sleep, even though it was the middle of the day, sleep was something she very much needed, she was grieving heavily and I don’t blame her, a lot of things would change now my father was gone including her adapting to life without a mate.

Slipping into my parent’s bedroom whilst quietly telling the omega that they saw nothing as they hurry off, my mother was sleeping deeply, gentle snores leaving her tear stained face. Hopefully she would stay asleep and it would make it easier for me to grab the key.

For the first time I see it, the small key hanging on a chain around her neck, how had I not noticed it before.
