Remembering the fight with Dimitri, I didn't think we would survive it. We had completely underestimated him, and he had surprised us beyond our imagination. If we knew he was a mage, our approach would have been different. When Dimitri punched Grey with so much force and power, I thought my husband had died. Melena's words helped snap me out of it. I was grateful for the mages. They had kept their promises so far. Although they were ancient, I saw them as my sisters. They had sacrificed enough to earn that position.
