Garvin's POV
_
The faces of all the men seated in the board meeting were the same every time: boring and life-draining.
"I believe we have arrived at a reasonable conclusion, Alpha Garvin."
"Yes, yes. I, with this, declare this meeting closed," I announced, heaving a sigh of relief as I did. It was about time, anyway. My butt cheeks were already sore from sitting in place for More than five hours. The meeting didn't seem to want to end, and it didn't help that the time moved awfully slowly. Taking long strides back to my office, I locked the door to ensure no one else got in, throwing my tux across the room. I settled in on my sofa, not bothering to sit on my office chair at the moment.
My body needed a stretch.
My thoughts raced back to the dinner I had with Tracy. How Angelic she looked sitting across me. There is no doubt why Kia can't still let go o
Tracy's POVThe week was filled with lots of preparations for the runway walk-off party I was organizing, and it was the first of its kind. And, of course, I had to make it perfect if I wanted my brand to continue to thrive in the fashion world. "You seem to be putting a lot of effort into this party, Trace." "Isn't that what organizing a party Intel's?"Not at all, Trace, you got it mixed up. Surely, throwing a party does not mean you can not have fun now and then. I mean, grab a glass of wine or two. From her hazy eyes, it was obvious that she had taken a few glasses of wine herself, "No, thank you, Elena. I will pass," I declined softly."Speaking of which, I have never seen you gulp a single glass of wine. Don't tell me you don't drink." She countered"Exactly, Elena, I don't drink.""Whatever. Ugh, you are so boring." she turned her back to me, swirling her glass of wine in the air as she walked away."You still have some work to do, Miss, I called behind her."My timetable sa
Kia's POV.Walking around the room of the hotel I had lodged in for the past couple of weeks, I turned back occasionally to stare at the invitation Tracy had handed to me. The tone of her voice, when she did, sounded like it conveyed an underlying sarcasm, but there was only one thing I could focus on, and that was the fact that she had indeed invited me to her party-- I mean like a personal invite._Does it mean she was finally warming up to us? My wolf growled within me.__Enough, big guy. We should not get ahead of ourselves here, I warned._Assuming will only get our hopes high and lead to an awful disappointment. It was best to keep our minds neutral.-----In order to ensure that it was not a prank of any form, I settled on running past the venue that was included in her invite. They were keeping it simple and having the
Kia's POVThe party had gotten off to a great start. Everyone was howling and cheering the models. But I had my eyes fixed on just one person. She was yet to make her debut appearance, but her models swam in and out of the runaway, sashaying and swinging their hips attractive ouuu and ahhs from the cheering crowd. For someone who barely paid any attention to the fashion world, I found myself googling at some of the designs that were showcased, and it wasn't a myth that Tracy indeed knew her onions. Two seats away from me, to my right, am an old couple with dull white hair, neatly combed, the wife with a set of shiny pearls that hung loosely around her neck, delicately sips a cup of warm tea while wearing a huge smile plastered onto her face as her spouse chuckles deeply while conversing with her.Behind them sits an overly enthusiastic teacher flipping about cards to the uninterested children behind her. They seem extremely bored and do not pay attention back to her and arrogantly th
Tracy's POVGarvin's arms were hooked with mine causing my stomach to clench slightly. Garvin was generally good looking with his slender physique but it just felt like something was wrong, something I could not place a finger on.The press swam over to us, pointing various microphones at us. _this was a totally bad idea, crystal protested inside of me.__i know right, but it's for the best__i guess your priorities are misplaced__what do you mean?__shushh now, they are approaching us now._"So miss tracian do you mind telling us how the relationship came about?" One of the press buddies enquired, almost poking a microphone in my eye."I am sorry but she can not answer more questions," Garvin declared pushing press crew away."But sir--"Excuse us," his voice authoritative.****"Garvin I told you this was a wrong idea. Totally wrong" "Heyy the news just needs to sink in, chill"."I just feel-"You know why you are doing this right? To ward Kia offSpeaking of which. Did you see
Garvin's POV.Leaning in my chair, my lips permanently fixed in an upward curve. Butterflies fluttered in my stomach at the thought of the events from last night. The "oh’s and Ahh from the crowd filled my heart with so much contentment._who knew you get so much joy from staging something?_The eyes of everyone present at the event were widened to their fullest extent except one person. Tracy. She held her hand in mine, her body stiff and rigid with palms that served in mine."Take Deep breaths, Tracy," I whispered while still wearing the smile"I can't," she replied, batting her eyes repeatedly, "The press is everywhere and.. they are asking too many questions"I will take care of them," I assured her, tightening my grip on her hand. As I led her out of the crowd.***Reaching for my phone on the other side of the table, I tapped on the social media icon,Indeed, all my efforts would be pointless if the primary target did not get to see it. What would be the point of paying off a
Tracy's POV"Hey Garvin, why are you back so early?" I questioned. He had a mischievous grin, and I could tell that whatever brought him back could not wait."I have something to show you," he grinned even more comprehensively."What's that," I inquired, crossing my arms around my chest"It's important," he expressed, pulling out his laptop and placing it on the table, gesturing to me to sit. "What is-"Shush," he cut me off, placing a longer over my lips."Alright then, no questions," I mumbled.Whatever we watched was colored in black and white, with blurry films everywhere. The lights that flickered, that podium... I recognized this place."Garvin, is this CCTV footage?" I blurted, unable to contain my curiosity."Jeez, Tracy, can't you just watch.""Ohh," I mouthed. The models paced up and down the runaway, swaying their hips as they walked. I had to commend Myself, Stewart; his models were indeed professionals. Watching the event from this angle gave it a whole new feel. Maybe t
Gavin's POVI watched as her eyes widened, and her mouth fell open. Her lips moved, but no words came out of them."A fly might get in there," I pointed out.Her eyes blinked severally before finally moving in the direction of my voice. "I -I am sorry. I just," she stuttered, making confused hand gestures."You thought I was outside?" I helped complete her sentence, raising my eyebrow at her. She nodded in response. "Let's just say I had a surprise in store for you,""And this is it?" She gestured at the entire table, finally finding her voice."Good to know that you can still talk," for a while there, I thought you had gone mute. "Haha, nice joke." She rolled her eyes."Are you going to stand there and watch, or are you going to dig in and enjoy the meal before you," I teased, going round the table to pull out a chair for her."Right," she expressed, taking her chair directly opposite me, "thank you," she muttered."Could you help me take a picture of the meal?" I pleaded, not want
Tracy's POV I sat in my office chair, unable to concentrate on the dozen of work piled on my table. My ocean-blue painted office no longer seemed like the creative space I had designed it to be. Garvin has been acting weird ever since the event. And no matter how hard I tried not to think about it, my mind kept drifting to it, causing my stomach to clench. "Ma'am, you have a flower coming from someone," my secretary announced, pulling me out of my thoughts. _Oh my goodness, are they from Kia? It's been a week since I watched the CCTV footage and saw Kia looking all majestic in it._ "Do you know who they are from?" I enquired, my voice almost breathless. "I have no idea, but it has a card," she pointed out, "I will take my leave now, ma'am," "Yeah, sure," I nodded, my gaze not entirely leaving the flower. It is most likely from Kia. My heart did summersaults at the mere thought of it. Who knows what he wrote on the card? He has the most perfect writing, and I know this beca
