"Daddy, do you really have to go?" Sofia cooed while I put on my shirt, I have an urgent meeting to attend to.

"I have to angel, buy I promise I would be back before you know it I just have a serious and urgent meeting to attend to." I said to Sofia before squatting to her size to give her a kiss on the cheek.

Irene holds my coat up for me with a sad smile on her face, I know she would also miss me too.

"Irene why are you so quiet?" I asked walking up to her and collecting the coat from her.

"Why do I have to be on leave from work won't it be somehow?" She asked.

I sighed, understanding her concerns. "I know it's not ideal, Irene, but we've talked about this. With everything that's been going on in our family, it's important for us to take a step back and focus on healing and rebuilding our relationships."

Irene nodded, but I could see the disappointment in her eyes. "I understand, Benjamin. I just worry about my job and what it means for my career."
