My phone begins to vibrate in my bag, tearing us out of our trance. We let go of our fingers tangled with each other. I bring out my phone and see that it is just a measly stupid alarm reminder I forgot to delete. I curse silently under my breath and turn it off, deleting it before putting it back into my bag.

I tuck my hair behind my ear. "Nate, you deserve every right to be happy doing what you love. And I really hope your dad will understand. But, definitely, just know that everything will work out one day."
