FELIX.

I have my helmet pressed to my side as I stare at the house before me. It’s quiet, and the gust of the wind is the only sound I can make out where I stand.

What was I thinking?

Seems to be the word I use most of these days.

I shouldn’t be here. Yet here I am, and I’m not turning back.

My heart jumps to my throat and I quickly duck near my bike when I see a familiar figure walk out of Brynn’s gate. Asher twirls a key in his hand and a smile accompanies his relaxed look as he walks to his parked car—which I didn’t notice until now.

I watch as he gets inside the car, and I can see him bop his head to whatever from the front windshield, his fingers tapping against the wheel as he reverses the car before driving away.

I move out of my hiding spot once he’s gone far enough for him to not catch a glimpse of me through his rear mirror.
