I finally left Brynn’s place, with her having to chase me out, of course. She was adorable with the whole sneaking around and we managed to get out without running into anyone.

"You’re that happy?" Lemuel comes up from behind me as I wrap the gloves around my hands and I peek at him, grinning even wider. "I am. Can you tell?" I lift my brows and he shakes his head, a small smile on his face as he takes the space next to me on the bench. "Is she okay?"

"She is." I nod. "She’s stronger than she looks. And hey, thanks for helping with the safe." I slap his arm and he grunts in response. "Always welcome. Maybe you can repay me by being nice to me from now on."

"What do you mean? I’m always nice to you." I wink and move from the bench. I head to the punching bag and I let out a woof of air as I stand before it.
