I’m gulping down the glass of water I have in hand when arms wrap around my waist and I nearly choke on the water as I set the glass back to the counter.

"Here you are," Felix’s deep morning voice vibrates near my ear, sending chills down my spine. He sighs as he drops his head on my shoulder. "I got scared 'cause I didn’t find you next to me when I woke up."

"I was thirsty, so I came down to grab a glass of water," I tell him and he removes his head from my shoulder. He turns me so I’m pressed to the counter and facing him. The way his hair falls messily over his head makes me smile and I press a palm to his chest. "I left not quite too long."

"I thought you snuck away." He mutters, and I cock my head. "Why’d I do that?"

He doesn’t respond. Instead, he pulls me to him and presses his lips to mine. I move my hand to his neck and press into him as his mouth moves against mine, the kiss slow and soft. When he pulls back, he glances down at my body before he meets my eyes again. I
