Ch29: Dad

I saw him pause in his steps, and I trembled even more. I stole a look at Dave, and he nodded his head at me, encouraging me to go on.

“Dad… I am…” I wanted to apologize to him. I had been so rude by refusing to talk to him, right? But his expression made me nervous.

I could not tell what was going through his mind. All I knew was that he looked something between shocked and scared. His gaze was focused on me as he took a step towards me.

“What did you call me?“ He asked, his voice trembling. I even thought that he was mad at me. Could it be that Dave was lying to me?
