Ivan’s POV

Tapping my feet on the floor, I couldn’t take my eyes off my phone as I waited for Celine’s call. I felt like a coward, waiting for the police to do their jobs.

It’s been a week already and three days since Lexi joined and I know how weak she is right now, I stared down at my phone but still nothing.

I couldn’t call Celine back because there was no caller ID and so I had to wait dreadfully for when my phone would ring.

“Why isn’t she calling back?” I gritted my teeth, rubbing my temple and pinching the bridge of my nose. My body hurts and I was starting to feel really weak already.

“Are we really going to do what she wants?” Ansel asked and I shot him a glare, even I couldn’t believe that I was going to agree to this but I’ve disappointed Lexi enough and this is one last chance for me to make it up to her.

“Like I have any other choice? Like there’s anything else I can do.” I responded, pacing around as Ansel and Reece sat down, also waiting for the call.
