BAB 131 I Jaxon And His Wound

The dim light streaming in through the open window jolted Jaxon awake. His masculine lips whimpered as he lifted his head slightly, making him dizzy.

“Shit,” he mumbled softly, closing his eyes again and feeling the side of the bed next to him.

Instead of the warm body he was expecting, he found a pillow.

Jaxon immediately reopened his eyes and turned to the side of the bed where Mia usually sleeps.

Jaxon’s head was turned in every direction, and when he awoke, he called out Mia’s name in a hoarse voice.

“Dolcezza,” he called several times but received no response.

He remained silent for a while until the memory of yesterday came to mind, and Jaxon jumped up with a sudden movement that caused the entire room to spin due to the dizziness that hit him.

“Ugh,” he muttered under his breath before dialing his wife’s number for the umpteenth time. “Dolcezza!” Jaxon searches for Mia’s whereabouts but cannot find her.
