Jennifer felt her heart ache for George. She had tried several times to help him become a permanent employee with a raise, only to be politely refused each time.

"You bastard!" One of the men ignored Jennifer and slapped George across the face, sending him sprawling to the ground. Blood immediately trickled from his mouth.

Jennifer's anger flared instantly. "Gentlemen, this is a workplace! How can you resort to violence?"

"Ms. York, don't you know the saying that a dog's behavior depends on its owner? Your dog bit us, so it's your responsibility as the owner!" The men sneered sinisterly. "We had a good impression of you before. But now, with this incident, it's hard to trust Prospera Corporation. We'll report this matter truthfully to the new chief!"
