Chapter 76

"Ms. York, are you awake?"

When Jennifer opened her eyes, she saw Frederick beside her with a bowl of aromatic chicken soup, which he gently offered to her.

"You're too fragile; no more all-nighters for you," he insisted.

"Frederick? Why are you here?" Jennifer asked, surprised.

She sensed an unexpected familiarity in his concerned gaze, almost like family. Hadn't they been at the Laguna Banquet before everything went wrong?

Then it hit her—she recalled Bianca's false accusations and the beating that had knocked her unconscious, her body broken and battered.

Breathing rapidly, Jennifer got up and went to the mirror, only to find herself unharmed. Her complexion even looked better than before.

"What's happening? Was it all just a dream?" she murmured, touching her face in disbelief. Her gaze sharpened as she turned to Frederick and asked, "Why are you here? Do you think taking me to the hospital and making soup can just erase what happened with those scandalous photos?"
