When my eyes met the person standing at that door, I became completely speechless. I know I should have been more convincing, and I was angry with myself for not having any reaction.

"I didn't think it would be you opening the door," she entered the room.

"Where did you think I would be?"

"In some other room, of course, or did Aslan move out?"

"He's taking a shower, and what do you want here?"

"I came to..." she paused and gave a mocking smile, furrowing her brows, "He didn't tell you? About the ball?" Now she was crossing the line, I was nervous, and I knew nothing about any damn ball. "Your husband didn't tell you anything about the ball we were invited to, the Spanish King's birthday ball? Maybe he doesn't want you to go, that's why he didn't tell you."

"Berna, I think it's best if you leave."

"Let me tell you, Diana, you don't belong in this world. Look at you, an ordinary and dull woman. We all know your marriage is a sham, that Aslan is avoiding me," she whispere
