In the dimly lit alley, Steve's heart was pounding like a drum, he held me close, my breath warm against his neck. With every step, the sound of his footsteps echoed like a haunting melody. Shadows danced around us as we were running out of the building.

My heart was beating loudly, and I was still in shock, one minute everything was ok, but the next minute everything was a mess and we were running for our lives keeping Maggie's life at stake. I felt frustrated for feeling helpless and became weak because of Oliver. I trained hard to face this situation but the trauma is making me weak.

The gunshots around the building made me even more scared, Steve's grip on my arm tightened, his fingers digging into my flesh, a silent reassurance that we were in this together.

“I will not let anything happen to you, Jerry,” Steve said breathing heavily.
