16. Again with the Leech.

Jade’s POV

On my way up to the boss’ office, my mind wouldn’t stop playing out the worst case scenarios and it made me feel nauseous. I cursed Miss Marilyn underneath my breath for keeping me in such excruciating suspense. I hated not knowing what to expect.

I remember slowly losing strength in my legs as I approached his office. The floor I treaded on began spiraling in endless circles and the sound of my own footsteps became muffled sounds that echoed in my ears. Before I get a grip of myself, I was lost in the endless abyss of space.

I don't know for sure how long I've been out but when I slowly peeled my eyes open, I found myself lying on a hospital bed. The smell of antiseptic accompanied by a little bitter undertones of artificial fragrance wafted its way into my nostrils and made my stomach turn. I’ve always hated hospitals and I see I’m no way near liking it.
