43 ~ The Eye of The Storm

Asha should’ve been scared at the quick change of Young’s deep browns being painted black and red, but she was still too upset about his audacity. It was beyond life changing to have the man’s physical body back in seemingly better condition and his soul mostly intact. She cherished every memory of them together, good and bad, so to see that he still had them all was priceless. Even if he wasn’t showing it, she knew he was thinking about their entire history together just like her.

If she had to guess, and her intuition was almost always right, when he relinquished his human control to Blood, she got a peek into just how much it weighed on him. He was aware of how his actions towards her had affected the course of her life but he was dedicated to his version of being a man about it. There wasn’t any time to dwell or cry about how horrible he’d been to the person he said he loved the most.
