Chapter 2

The press conference began and Naya handed and earpiece to Cole.

“Here, repeat exactly what you hear in the earpiece, nothing more, nothing less. Don’t mess this up or else consider your career over” Naya said and stepped out of the car, Cole followed her out and was about to enter to follow his manager inside the conference room when she stopped him.

“Won’t you help your girlfriend out?” Naya growled under breath, she faked a smile and lead the way and Cole waited for Luna to step out. Luna wore a designer nose mask and a dark glasses which covered almost of her face making it hard for the public to make her out. She took Cole’s hand and they both walked hand in hand into the conference room.

After several questions for the managers Cole was called to take the podium.

“Now, listen carefully and only repeat what you hear” the voice warned Cole through the earpiece.

“Mr. Williams, rumors have it that you and Sean have been long time lovers…and that Sean’s marriage to Genevieve Marcel was just to gain him some fame and money at the beginning of his career”

Cole cleared his throat, he wanted to scream Nonsense! Genevieve didn’t have a career till she met Sean, but the voice in the earpiece brought him back to reality.

“That’s not quite true, Sean has always worked hard for all his has, Genevieve too” Cole answered calmly.

“Mr. Williams are you defending Sean because he’s your lover?” Another reporter asked.

Cole scoffed even if he was gay Sean would never qualify to be his lover.

“Sean and I are definitely brothers for life, in this life or the next” Cole responded as he heard on the earpiece.

“Mr. Williams, how do you explain the news that recently came out… Genevieve told the hot sauce newspaper that the reason for her divorce was because of the unusual relationship between you and her husband” A reporter asked and the room went dead silent, none of the management teams had heard the latest news, they had to be tactful in answering that question.

“Well… the media had it all wrong and so did the public… and your misinterpretations have greatly affected my relationship with my fiancée… with whom I came here today… she nearly called off our wedding ceremony which scheduled to happen this weekend…”

“What?” Cole whispered under his breath. The rest of the team were also shocked by the revelation. Luna leaned over and whispered in Naya’s ear “I thought this was supposed to be a relationship”

“I thought so too but let’s get out of here first… we can discuss this later” Naya whispered back.

“Just say as I say the voice whispered to Cole”

“Yes…. We intended to keep our marriage a secret but the pressure from the media has made this impossible” Cole said in a shaky voice

“Mr. Williams why is your fiancée’s face covered can we have a word with her?” Some of the reporters asked.

Cole turned around to look at Luna who shook her head in disagreement.

“She’ll like to remain anonymous for now, she will reveal herself to the public on the wedding day”

Cole responded.

Luna was not happy, this was supposed to be a relationship not a marriage ceremony. Just within a twinkle of an eye she was engaged to a man who didn’t even remember they had worked together before. On their way back home she expresses her concerns to Mr. Marsh.

“Mr. Marsh I have intentions on getting married this weekend, my day has to be special. I need an engagement ring…”

“We can arrange an engagement party as soon as possible” Naya cut in.

“From a man who loves me… I don’t want to marry him” Luna protested.

“I don’t want to marry you either I’m only here because I was forced” Cole shot back at her.

“Cole!” Naya yelled.

“Well since you all heard him, he doesn’t are about his career why don’t we just call this whole facade off and let everyone catch a break” Luna said.

“Okay, how about you marry him for $100, 000? All you need to do is show up for the wedding get married to Cole then you can part with 100,000 dollars” Naya proposed.

“What?” Cole and Mr. Marsh chimed in together.

“The wedding is this weekend we need to get this over and done with, all you need to do is show up and for the wedding, take some pictures and viola we’ll pay a whopping $100,000” Naya explained further.

“That’s too much money for a marriage that won’t last a minute after the ceremony, just give her 50bucks” Cole muttered.

Naya glared at Cole resisting the urge to slap him.

“What? she doesn’t even deserve 50 bucks I’m being kind to her. When paparazzi gets shots of her with me it’ll even help her career than it’ll save mine” Cole spewed, annoying Naya even further.

Luna was totally disgusted by Cole’s behavior he wasn’t behaving like someone who needed help and decided to teach him big lesson.

“I’ll do it” she said suddenly.

“Are you sure?” Mr. Marsh asked.

“The marriage will be over the minute we walk out of the wedding hall right?” She asked.

“Yes!” Naya yelled.

“I’ll do it then, I may dislike this bloke but it doesn’t mean I’ll watch a 100,000 go away just like that, right after the wedding I’m done with his ass” Luna said with a smile on her face.

“Miss Strauss it’s a deal then, we look forward to doing business with you”

“Pleased to be doing business with you too” Naya responded cheerfully.

Cole just scoffed he couldn’t wait for the weekend to be over then he’ll be done with that rude and proud woman he thought to himself.
